Argentina-Chile ver. 1.0
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Part One Argentina:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
I used a Large Building for the Naval Bases and just regular airbases
for the airbases. For airstrips in the Malvinas I used Short Runways.
These three airstrips were used by Argentina during the war. If you
wish to use them under British control the names are Stanley, Goose
Green and Pebble Island. Fighter-bombers may be launched from Stanley.
The two other strips were not hard-surfaced runways.

Just south of Stanley is a Long Runway called Fitzroy. It is the
Falkland Island's International airport. It did not exist during the
1982 war.

Bases which have been placed on the map are indicated by (**). I would
encourage further information on those bases with a commentary. This map
is in no way a finished product, and probably not all that accurate either.
Help would be greatly appreciated especially with the location of the
missing bases!

Please feel free to add the missing bases to the map with the scenario
editor, and feel free to move any of the bases which are in the wrong
place. Please notify me at mcordiez@direct.ca and attach the modified map
and a short explanatory blurb. We can then repost the updated map.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
ARA Naval Bases:

Buenos Aires
Puerto Belgrano (Buenos Aires)
** Rio Grande (Tierra del Fuego)
Rio Santiago
** Trelew (Chubut) [is this an airbase or port or both?]
** Ushuaia (Tierra del Fuego)
Zarate (Buenos Aires)
** Mar del Plata (Buenos Aires)
Punta Indio (Buenos Aires)
Azul (Buenos Aires)
Comandante Espora (Buenos Aires)
Almirante Zar
** Rio Gallegos (Santa Cruz)
Baterias (Buenos Aires)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Main CANA Air Bases:

Punta Indio (Buenoa Aires)
Comandante Espora (Buenos Aires)
Almirante Zar
Ezeiza (Buenos Aires)
** Rio Grande (Tierra del Fuego) [6 500' runway]
** Ushuaia (Tierra del fuego) [not capable of supporting
						 combat aircraft in 82]

Rio Grande was home to Dagger's. Double check when placing its runway
whether or not a 6000' runway in Harpoon II supports Daggers. If it
doesn't, use an 8000' runway.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Main BAM of the FAA:

BAM El Palomar (Buenos Aires)
** BAM Cordoba (Cordoba)
** BAM General Urquiza (Parana, Enter Rios)
** BAM Reconquista (Santa Fe)
BAM El Plumerillo (Mendoza)
BAM Villa Reynolds (San Luis)
** BAM Mariano Moreno (Moron & Buenos Aires) [position is a guess]
** BAM Comodoro Rivadavia (Chubut) [7 700' runway]
** BAM Rio Gallegos (Santa Cruz) [11 600' runway]
** BAM Tandil (Buenos Aires)
** BAM Mar del Plata (Buenos Aires)
BAM Vice Comodoro Marambio (Antartida Argentina) [off-map]

is there a BAM Santa Cruz?
is there a BAM Trelew?
is there a base at Puerto Deseado?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Civilians airfields

BAM San Julian (Santa Cruz)

This has also been placed on the map.

Many thanks to Facundo Bonaldi for the core information. Please see the
attached document argentin.txt for more.

Part Two Chile:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have placed three Chilean naval bases on the map. Puenta Arenas,
Antofagasta and Iquique. I have little info on Chilean airbases. During the
1982 War British Canberra PR.9's with Chilean markings flew recon missions
from Punta Arenas. Following the conflict 2 of the 6 were then left behind
as a gift. Chile was also given a squadron of Hawker Hunters.

There are airports at the three aforementioned cities, however they are all
primarily civilian fields as far as I know. I have seen military aircraft at
Iquique, Antofagasta and in Santiago (Int'l airport) and one of the first two
(which one?) is a shared military/civilian base. All these can support large
passenger aircraft.
