Seventeen Asheville class craft were produced for the US Navy for Coastal Patrol and Blockade purposes, but they were never extensively used. They all had an armament of a Mk 75 (License-built Compact 76) and a 40mm Bofors. For Meditteranean operations, some of them were fitted with Standard ARMs.
Now out of service with the USN, one ARM-equipped craft went to South Korea, and two gunboats each went to Colombia, Taiwan (Now deleted) and Turkey.
