MV-22 Osprey by Saul H. Jacobs

The MV-22 is the marine transport version of the Bell/Boeing  V-22 Osprey. 
The Navy will buy the SV-22, an antisub version while the Army is also 
considering buying a version of the aircraft. The V-22 is a tilt-rotor 
V/STOL multirole aircraft. Width is 84 ft. 6 in., length 56 ft. 10 in. 
and heigth 20 ft. 2 in. The transport version can carry 24 fully equiped 
troops. STOL take off max weight is 55,000lbs max for VTOL is 
43,800 lbs. It has a ferry range of 2,420 mls and a hovering ceiling of 
3,000 ft. with 8,300 lb. external load.

The MV-22 will replace the Marines ageing CH-46 helo's. The MV-22 was
chosen over the H-60 Blackhawk for its larger load carrying capaciaty. 

