Phantom FGR.Mk 2 by Saul Jacobs

Final development of the F4 Phantom for the British by McDonnell 
Douglas. The F4K was developed for the British with Rolls-Roysce 
spey afterburning turbofans and the AWG-11 fire control radar. This 
aircraft entered service in 1967 as the Phantom FG.MK1.

The next version was the F4M which entered service as the 
FGR.MK2. Modifications consisted of AWG-12 radar fire control 
system, Sky Flash air to air missles, flush fitting ventral EMI 
reconnaisance pod capability and a Ferranti inertial navigation system.

Aircraft specifications are: Span 38ft . 8in.., length 63ft., 16ft. 6in.., 
normal take off weight 41487lbs.  Maximum speed at 36,000 ft.(clean) 
is 1,430 mph. and it has a ferry range of 1,978 mls. This aircraft can 
carry a load of 12,980lbs of assorated ordinacnce. 

The aircraft was designed primarly as a fighter and does a good job 
when equiped with the Sky Flash missles. It also is an outstanding 
ground attack aircraft capable of carrying a very large load of many 
different types of ordanance.
