This aircraft-carrier (named Harrier Carrier) is based on a project of Vosper Thornycroft shipyard shown in the Greenwich naval show in late 70s.
The original project had an all electric propulsion, the necessary electric energy to the two electric engines had produced by 9 gas turbines (Allison 501KF or Rolls-Royce TYNE) that propelled electric generators, but for reasons of practicality I've opted for an "all gas" propulsion. The turbines had collocated in two separate rooms: the first one lodged 5 turbines and was situated below the island, the second room, that lodged 4 turbines, was situated at extreme stern and the turbines discharged the exhausted gases by means of 4 horizontal funnels, like Japanese aircraft-carrier in 2nd WW.
This aircraft-carrier must operate with 8 Sea Harrier and 2 Lynx mainly employed for SAR service but, if necessary, with the possibility of ASW employment. The fixed wing component could be replaced partially or totally with large ASW helicopters (ie. Sea King or EH-101 Merlin) if the ship had employed for ASW missions.
This project was very interesting, because it would have given the possibility to countries with restricted financial facilities to equip with a naval aviation buying a relatively few expensive unit. Unluckily the project had erased because this aircraft-carrier had been considered too small for operate with fixed wing aircrafts.
