Here's another NATO vs Pact scenario set in the opening minutes of a Third World War that never was (Yet!). It's based on one of Larry Bond's scenarios from "Battles of the Third World War." It isn't an exact copy, but it's as close as the current database will allow.

It's more fun, and infinitely more difficult, to play from the Soviet side. As the Soviet player, you're hopelessly out gunned and have very little chance of surviving the battle, but you have only limited victory conditions and survival isn't one of them! Since you will get the first strike, I've found it useful to close to gun range and start firing from there. In testing the game, only once was I able to escape the scene of the battle, but I later sank as a result of damage inflicted.

As NATO, you will have a very good idea of where the Soviet ship is from the start of the game. Array your ADA ships quickly and accordingly. There's not a great deal of strategy involved here. Just hope your SAMs are up to the task of knocking down incoming missiles. When it comes time to return fire, simply overwhelm the Soviet ship.

Any one with comments and/or critisisms is welcome to let me know, the only way I can improve the scenarios I try to write is with feedback from other users. Enjoy!
