Well, here's another scenario which was once just for the original Harpoon board game. It's quite small, but the value of the tactics it teaches cannot be understated.

It is the classic encounter between a convoy picket and an attack sub. For the US player, things are fairly straight forward. Use your superior sensors to detect the Soviet sub at maximum range. Launch your helicopter to prosecute the contact. But pay attention, the endurance of your SH-2F iv very limited. So don't waste your time searching huge areas. Wait until the contact is at least somewhat localized.

For the Soviet player, all the rules of submarine warfare still apply. Sprint, stop, creep, change direction and depth often, etc. Anything to prevent the picket from developing a track. Remember, the picket's helo doesn't have very long legs, so make use of this fact to close the gap with some high speed runs at the ship while the helo is refueling.

As always, I'd appreciate your feedback. Let me know if you enjoyed it, changed it, or if it just plain sucked. I've play tested both sides several times and managed to win (and loose!) with each side. Enjoy!
